It measures the force that is required to tear the fabric.

Special construction of the fabric, which gives the textile an extra resistance against tearing.

1.

A cut is made at the end of the fabric to form a pair of tabs.

2.

The ends of the sample are held at the top and bottom of the structure.

3.

A force is applied that stretches both ends of the textile to propagate the tear. At the same time, the developed force is recorded to establish what resistance our textiles have.
